Chicken Feeders Waterers

Most people understand that a home Chicken Coop is an important part of raising Backyard Chickens successfully. Your chickens will need shelter and a place to eat and sleep in a safe environment. On the other hand, paying for a pre-made chicken coop can be very costly. Add to that the cost of delivering the chicken coop to your home, and you have a recipe for a deflated checking account.

This article will explore the top tips for building your home chicken coop quickly and cost effectively.

1. Make a plan: Everyone has heard the old saying that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail, right? Well, even when you are talking about building a chicken coop, you still must make plans before you begin construction. Planning at the beginning will make for a successful project.

When you are creating your plan, you really need to take time to consider all of the questions and problems that could arise such as: how will you have access to the coop, how many feeders and waterers will you need, how big will your chickens get, how many windows should you have for good ventilation and light and how are you going to keep those chickens as safe as possible? These are just some of the considerations you need to make to ward off future problems.

2. Choose a good location for your coop: Now you need to find just the right spot in your backyard for your new home chicken coop. Find a space that is flat and free of weeds to help you protect your chickens from snakes and other rodents. Also, be certain to leave plenty of space around your coop because you will need to be able to access it. You may also want to build a run for your chickens.

3. Sketch out your plans on paper: Drawing your coop out on paper will help you plan on exactly what type of coop will work for your needs. It does not need to be architecturally beautiful. You should be focusing on the functionality of the building. You also need to make a list of all of the materials you will need to complete your project so that you can also figure out the final price.

4. Start building! Now that you have taken the time to plan, it is time to start building. As you build, take great care to give your coop plenty of ventilation as well as protection from outside predators.

Building your own home chicken coop can be a good experience if you understand the process. However, if drawing your coop is a frustrating experience and you really have no clue about where to begin, you might want to purchase some inexpensive design plans to help you along. These resources are invaluable to the new coop builder as they can even tell you what kind of coop to build.

If you are thinking about building a home chicken coop then you need step by step instructions so that you do not waste cash on too many materials and wind up with a big mess when you are finished! Grab your plans at http://www.PlansChickenCoop.com.

Do my chickens need their food and water with them at night?

I don`t know how well they can see in the dark or if they absolutely need their feeder+waterer at night. Does age matter? If so, how much does it matter?
Thank you all so much! Very helpful!

This all depends on the age of your birds are they peeps or at least 4-5 months old or older ?? Peeps yes need water and foods all day and night if 4-5 months no only during the day unless its hotter than he$$ where you live then they need water 24/7 Chickens will eat all day till their crop (food sack) is full they stop and let this digest and start again till full. The feeds in the crop is what the birds survive on during the night while they roost. Water is a necessary for chickens all day and night, the birds will drink if want but best to have ready if they need or want.
