Large Chicken Coop Plans Free

The economy is not doing so well and each and everyone of us is trying to save money. You are seriously considering building a chicken house in your backyard but you are a little bit short of cash and you think that's the end of it. I beg to disagree! You can look around for a used chicken coop for a fraction of the original cost. If you're lucky, you might find one in your neighborhood but if not then don't despair, you just have to keep on looking.

A lot of us do not have the time to build our own chicken house or run. It's not as easy as putting word and wire mesh together. If it was that easy, I may have built 20 of them! There are a lot of things to be considered especially if you want the coop to last for a lifetime. You have to consider insulation, positioning, lighting, nesting, perches, litter collection and protection from other animals that can be preys. You have to remember all of these things when eyeing out a used chicken coop.

You want something that will protect your chickens from predators and other environmental elements that can lead to their demise. You also want it to be large enough to prevent cannibalism and also avoid diseases from spreading too easily. A used chicken coop should also have to help you maintain your chickens' health to make sure you get delicious eggs each and every time.

If you can't find one in your neighborhood then where else can you look? The internet! Prices range from $100 to $300.

What chicken breeds should I get?

I plan on checking out whatever is at the store, unless I find a hatchery that sells single chicks, but I have no clue what kind I should be keeping.
Our chicken coop is large enough to hold probably 25 chickens on the roost at night. During the day they will be free range in a large fenced area.
I would prefer chickens that cannot or will not fly over the fence, will get along well, and can survive a cold winter and a hot summer.
Egg production and show quality doesn't matter.

I used to have Pekin Bantams. They are very friendly and will actually follow you around the garden.
They dont get very big and their feathers cover their claws so they look like a big ball of feathers.
