How can you make a chicken tractor in your backyard? If you are a small time poultry owner and will like to keep your poultry safe then you can start by getting a chicken tractor. These are very simple to build and do not require any more than a few hours of work. Most chicken tractors are made entirely out of wood and chicken wire so if you are worried about making one then be assured that your worries are unfounded. All you will need is a good set of plans to start out and you are all set. Now be sure to keep these things in mind before you get started:

a. A good set of plans so that you can have a focused and educated approach.

b. The raw materials; you will only require some lumber or ply wood and chicken wire; these should be easily available if not already present in your backyard.

c. Remember to provide 4 square feet of space per chicken so that they may live comfortably.

d. Keep a waterer and a feeder always filled up so that your birds do not go hungry or thirsty.

A chicken tractor has many advantages to offer. The most important of these is that since it has no floor so that the chicken can reach the ground. Chickens have a tendency to hunt for weed and pests while being on grass. Kept in a chicken tractor they can do so in a controlled manner. This can spare you hours of work as all you will then have to do is shift the tractor from one place in your backyard to the next.

I need to find good chicken tractor plans. Which are the best?

I wanna raise some chickens cause I thought it would be kind of fun and easy to do. I've heard about these chicken tractors to keep them in but I don't know what the best plans are to build one. Anyone know?
